Megalicense on board as licensing agent to drive brand development as the television series takes off

Momentum is gathering for Entertainment One Licensing’s (eOne) Peppa Pig in Russia and the Ukraine as the licensor today announces that it has appointed Megalicense International as its licensing agent in the region.
With firmly established broadcast platforms on Russia’s No. 1 dedicated children’s TV channel Karusel and PlusPlus in the Ukraine driving demand for official licensed merchandise, Megalicense International will now oversee the development of the award-winning preschool brand in these exciting and hugely important emerging markets.
Licensing is already underway with Rosman on board for toy, publishing (including magazine) and arts and craft categories, stationery and party goods in Russia and Kiddisvit for toy in the Ukraine. Rosman has been running a promotional campaign for the brand since last year and is planning an extensive mass-market, television advertising campaign in October 2014 with own brand products including plush, wooden toys, bath toys and mini world of Peppa Pig collectible products in addition to the core plastic lines from Character Options.Other early adopters to the Peppa licensing programme include publishing giant Panini, Perfetti Van Melle for confectionary, a large manufacturer and distributor of toys «Alisa» company, and Kidstime for watches. Next year apparel, footwear, construction toys, houseware and publishing part works, jigsaw puzzles and other key categories.
Andrew Carley, Head of Global Licensing at Entertainment One says, “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Megalicense International to the eOne family. I’m in no doubt that they will identify new opportunities for the brand and that Peppa will benefit from their extensive experience of the Russian and Ukranian markets.
Friderico Gatti, CEO at Megalicense International says, “We are proud to have been selected by eOne. We plan to develop and position Peppa Pig as one of the leading properties in our territory.” Peppa’s expansion into Russia builds on the brand’s incredible success across the globe.
In addition to the UK, Peppa is one of the leading preschool properties in Australia, Spain and Italy and making considerable headway in North America and Benelux. With licensing agreements now numbering more than 450 globally, the brand is expanding further into new markets including Latin America, China, South-East Asia, France and Germany.
